The first five people to respond to this post will get some form of art, by me. About you, some how. I make no guarantees about quality or type, but I will assure that I will give it good effort.

The catch? As with most memes, if you sign up, you have to put this in your own journal as well. :D

Do this people! I am not an amazing artist, but who doesn't love to get mail!?

Please Help!! [04 May 2006|11:33am]
This year, I have the honor and pleasure of participating in MDA's Portland/Falmouth Lock-Up May 24, 2006 to help "Jerry's Kids®". To reach my goal I need your help!

I'd like to include you or your company on my list of contributors who are helping me reach my goal. Your donation would help MDA continue the important fight against muscular dystrophy. Check out my web page by clicking on the link above. There you'll find all kinds of information about MDA, and be able to make your tax-deductible donation on-line using your credit card.

MDA serves people in our community with neuromuscular disease by providing clinics, support groups, assistance with the purchase and repair of wheelchairs, braces and communication devices, and summer camp for kids. MDA also funds research grants to help find treatments and cures for some 43 neuromuscular diseases that affect people of all ages, right here in our community.

I sincerely hope that you'll take the opportunity to support MDA. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or e-mail me.

On behalf of the families MDA serves, thank you!

Warmest Regards,

John Robinson

Last night was R-Rated night at Styxx. They do contests and such. One contest was pole dancing. So..I did it. Took my pants off too. Now I am chaffed and bruised...but I won out of the guys, so I guess it's all good?? Wait, no. Cause one of my testiculars fell out of my undies when I slid down the pole and my friend Kate saw it. I'll take, "Things that are slightly embarrassing" for $500 Alex.

I weighed myself this morning. 168. That sounds pretty average considering a lot of people don't think I weigh that much. Compare it to me in the middle of January when I weighed 191. Not too shabby. Not sure how I am losing it though. I drink coffee daily...have gone back to drinking soda every once in a while, and I really haven't been watching what I eat. I snack, I eat chocolate...just don't get it, but have still lost two pounds in about 2 days. I just don't get it. The girls at work at mad because I keep complaining. I think I look good, just need to firm up where the fat used to be, but now I have to buy new clothes. I bought all of my work clothes (aka..the more expensive stuff) when I was at my biggest and now everything sags on me. BLAH!! Guess I need to spend more money on more clothes.

In better news, last week I worked diligently on a client event for here at work. 40 of our biggest clients. Lots of work went into it and I was in charge of making all of the food and being the bartender, ordering all the supplies, and arranging for all of them to go to a showing of an opera afterward. Well, because of its success and my boss being extremely impressed, I was nominated for a Citizens Performance Plus Excellence Award. Well, I got the award....which came with a maximum $1000 bonus. I guess hard work does pay off!!!

I leave in two days for my trip to Bermuda. I'm both excited and not. 5 days in paradise=exciting. 5 days away from Marcus=not exciting. Yes, I'm sappy, but at the end of the day, I like to know that I have the opportunity to cuddle up next to somebody that makes me feel so warm and comfortable and special.

I am now the proud owner and daddy of a 9-month old white short-haired kitty by the name of Maximillian J. Van de Kamp (Max for short). I went the gay way and adopted me a kid. Today I will go out and buy him a bowtie..because I think it is fitting of his personality and his prestige.

Last night was Valentine's Day Part Deux

I was taken to Fore Street for food and wine. It was delicious, romantic, and the company was outstanding. We then rushed home to watch American Idol..because that is at the top of the priority list these days, followed by my turn to open presents. I got a basket full of Now and Laters, a heart-shaped box of kisses and hugs, and a big stuffed Gorilla wearing a leather jacket that said "Wild Thing". Also in the basket was a handmade (so adorable) coupon book for various things (one free night on the town, one free back massage..ect) and a very wonderfully made card. I am quite possibly the luckiest guy ever. He even put up with my constant tossing and turning last night..not worried about his own sleep but by the fact that I had to work all day today. He makes me feel special...and I hope I make him feel the same way.

Last nights V-day dinner went off wonderfully. The food I cooked tasted great, the wine was good, and the candlelight made this all romantical. Tonight is V-day part 2....can't wait.

I have a Valentine...and that excites me. Actually, I have 2-days of Valentines, because, in his own words, "I don't need a holiday to show you that I like you." So, he has planned something for Wednesday. I'm impressed and have a permagrin on my face!!

I got my car back today. I haven't had the luxury of driving her for over 2.5 months. I saw her and it was like we had never parted. She shined beautiful, and when I started her up, she purred like a kitten. Had people not been around, I would have made love to her right there, although I'm sure there is a law against it.

This week we have Groundhog Day and the State of the Union Address.
It is an ironic juxtaposition: one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication and the other involves a groundhog.

The real irony is that one of them knows how to crawl out of a hole, and the other keeps digging deeper.

I'm depressed. That's all I'm going to say. Haven't slept in three days, can barely eat, and I slipped on the stairs today and fell. Great friggin' day.

Although I know this sort of entry should have been posted closer to the first of the year, I wanted to make sure I was disciplined enough to carry these out for at least 10 days. Since I have succeeded, here they are, my New Year's Resolutions.

1) No Soda: I know that they say to never take something completely out of your diet, but I feel that this will be ok. I also limit myself to one cup of coffee at work and make myself drink as much water as possible.

2) Limit Sweets, especially Chocolate: I haven't had a bite of Chocolate yet, even when Ryan attempted to get me to eat a chocolate chip cookie. I'm such a good boy!!

3) Get some sort of exercise daily: I either walk to work, walk home from work, or do both daily. I have a pedometer and have been doing quite well. I've noticed the skin loosening up a bit, which means I am losing weight (the healthy way) and should start a regime of crunches and push-ups in the morning and at night.

4) Eat Healthier: This one has been a lot easier than anticipated. Although I still enjoy a few Doritos as I enter the house on my way home from work, I find myself snacking on pretzels and cheese. I also save a ton of money by bringing Lean Cuisines, Weight Watchers, and Healthy Choice meals to work for lunch. Portion controlled and very affordable compared to eating out everyday in the Old Port.

5) Organize Finances: I start paying student loans back this month...which is going to be a killer financially. I need to find a second job to not only keep me sane during my off-hours, but to allow me to stabilize myself and get ahead.

6)Follow Through: There are lots of things I commit to that I unfortunately start off strong with and slowly filter off to nothing. This year I will only show full commitment to those things I am compassionate about and know that I can produce results for. I also have some goals that I would like to achieve at some point, and I think this year is a good time to organize my thoughts and get the wheels in motion to start these goals in a healthy and reasonable direction.

Six resolutions seems to be a lot, but I know that I can do it. I am extrememly motivated this year (well, so far, the first 10 days of this year) to see some change in my life for the good.) Here's hoping 2006 is as I hope it to be and that all of your goals, dreams, and ambitions are successful!!!!
